hey everyone who reads my blog... :)
well i am sorry i haven't blogged for like 3 weeks.
there are two big reasons for this -
1) school has started, of course.
2) i got a facebook, finally! so any free time i have is normally spent on facebook or doing something that is not computer related. and i don't really have more than 30 minutes of free time ever because my teachers kill me with homework... except for the weekend.
so anyways, i will tell you all about school!
my bus stop is kinda far away so mom or dad always drive me. when i first got on the bus i was so nervous my hands were shaking, :).
i was terrified that i would get lost, but i didn't. :) first period (which we have every day) is spanish 2 with mrs. lasine. mrs. lasine is spanish and she is a bit strange at times. i have heard from several people that she believes in aliens, and she asked for our zodiac signs when we were all introducing each other. ??? otherwise i guess she is nice. she gives out homework in spanish and so my first assignment i didn't catch that he had to do activity 2 as well as 1. so i got an F. :( otherwise in that class i am doing well, better than i expected. i am really enjoying spanish, knowing another language is really awesome feeling, :P. i met five people in that class - rachel, carly, brandon, joey and laura.
then on even days i have geometry, drivers ed/health pPE2, and world history.
geometry - i thought it was gonna be really hard, but i am doing pretty good so far. my teacher, ms. carter, is really fast paced so if you don't know what she's talking about it gets pretty tricky.
drivers ed/health/PE - a three part class. we are in the drivers ed section right now... its really really boring. my teacher mrs. douglas is kinda annoying too. so right now we are learning about driving safety... i wish we were doing drivers ed as the last part of the class because i can't even get my learners until november 12.
world history - sometimes i hate it, sometimes i love it. my teacher mr. gerardo is really tough but i kinda like him anyway. anyways world history is really interesting....
i will have to tell you about my odd day later because its time for school...
sorry for abandoning my blog!

orientation
ok, well i just thought i'd post about my orientation instead of reply in comments how it went.
we headed to the auditorium, where there was announcements. then i went to a place where there was a big sign saying "transfer students all ages here." meanwhile my mom went off and - well i don't actually know what she did really. something about school supplies, but i don't know what else. so then someone called out - is anyone here named brynn? and i came forward and they said, ok, we have your sidekick.
so i met sam, she was really nice. i got my class schedule and she took me on a tour to all my classes. when i got to my class i met my teacher and we sat there till the bell rang, just to give us a feel of how it was i guess.
then off to the next class, and so on. i think it was just overwhelming how many kids there were! i so wasn't used to it. and i constantly was being shoved and jostled, there were so many kids packed in the hallways. after going to all seven classes i asked sam if we could retake the tour instead of going to the ice cream social they were having. she said sure - and i took a second tour. i am just nervous that i won't know where to go and will totally break down on my first day of school, :P. so i have a map but its still pretty confusing - i will just have to study it and where my classes are so that i won't get lost.
i saw lots of people that i recognized from young life, so that was cool.
um... ok. well i'll talk about my teachers. some of them i didn't meet because they weren't there. but, my spanish teacher was really nice. she is actually from spain and has an awesome accent. and she said lots of what we'll be doing is just talking about stuff. like, how was your summer? what did you do? i don't know how she'll work spanish into that but - um oh well. :P
my world history teacher was a jokester, he got me worried into thinking i was really in french class when i was in the right class all along.
my geometry teacher seemed tough and my teacher for earth science was really nice.
so much walking though! i am already worn out. :P
so yes, thats orientation! i am starting school on the 8th, hopefully i'll be ready for it!

weird computer thing...
ok well i posted more FL pics but for some reason my "latest going on in my life" post was kept as the most recent post. ??? so if you wanna see the FL pics just scroll down. :)
mine as well do a little update while i am on here - its funny, this has kind of turned into more of a diary type blog than a picture blog. oh well. :)
ok updates....
today is all ready super crazy. mom just took hayley, kendall and corby to their school orientation at J.B. Watkins, then she'll come home, I will quick eat lunch and walk the dogs, then we'll go to my orientation. then, she has to quick come home, get grant and take him to HIS orientation. !!! luckily kam's orientation was last night, so we don't have to worry about that today.
oh and also grant has football so mom has to make sure his orientation is over by 5:30 in order to get him to football at 6.
crazy crazy!
yesterday i just got a taste of God's awesome way of working things out. so i go to this youth group, young life, that is a youth group for all the chesterfield county schools. and i was invited to go by a girl named meredith. we met because mrs. moreland, a lady in my church, knew meredith's mom. so anyways meredith called me and i went to the youth group with her. BTW meredith also goes to my school.
well, on orientation day i have a sidekick, thats what they're called, to give me a tour of the school and go to my classes and all that stuff.
well, it just turns out that the girl who is going to be my sidekick, samantha, is meredith's best friend! i just think thats really neat! :)
well i guess thats really all. :)

the latest in my life
ok well i have been meaning to put up more FL pics... but i just kinda have been slow with it...
well today i am just studying for SOLs, i think i am ready to take them but more practice never hurts. so... yep. some friends are coming over after lunch, so mom has had us clean the house spotless, and then i might go to the library and pick up my reserved items.
tomorrow i am going to a pizza party that my friends youth group is hosting, which should be fun. :) i am hoping to meet some more people going to my school.
then on thursday is my school orientation. i thought that it was on wednesday but turns out its on thursday, :P. i get my bus, class and lunch schedule, get a tour of the school, and meet my teachers and get supply lists from them. so i am looking forward to that a lot. i can't believe school is in one week! aaahhhhh! its really scary but i am so excited at the same time.
i think i have my first day outfit of school planned out...

more FL pics! (sorry for the wait)
ok, at long last - here are the rest of the pics from FL! you can see why it took me so long, i took about 200 pictures in the three or four days we were there, and these are just the best ones.
ok, on the last day we went to a place called Boca Raton to snorkel. well, dad, blair and i went there. mom and jordan didn't feel like the 20 minute drive and so went shopping instead.
the place was really gorgeous - white sand, blue sky, gentle waves and all these bushes bordering the beach. so here is me in snorkel gear...
then blair took a funny modeling one of me :P...
blair and dad on the beach - you can see the gorgeous - "greenery" what else to call it - in the background
this is a good view of the reef. all the places where the water is dark, and where the rocks are - thats the coral reef. it was fabulous, we saw tons of fish, all colors and sizes. i saw a four foot long barracuda and a smaller one. they were really cool and a bit scary. they were in the deeper water, and when i saw the long one, it slowly turned and just stared at me. it was pretty scary!
we also saw these packs of whitish fish with pale eyes, and blue fish and purple fish. i saw yellow fish too. there was so much variety! it was really neat.
the only non-glamorous thing about the reef was that i kept getting seawater in the my snorkel, so one time i came up to spit it out, and got a huge gulp of seawater! i started choking and dad had to come and help me. ick, i hate salt water - not only does it not taste "good" it also burns your throat.
blair and i :)
ok, so the night of jordan's birthday we went to the cheesecake factory and had a huge dinner.
this is not a really good picture of jordan - she looks better in her modeling pictures.
my mom and dad at the cheesecake factory - sunburn, uh oh! :P
jordan's apartment was really small, so dad and mom ended up just getting their own hotel room. we hung out at the hotel pool for a few hours, it was very relaxing.
jordan took us on a tour of A1A, some street along the beach. there were tons of cheap, over priced shops... they looked cool, but their food was over priced and not that good. we stopped at a mexican restaurant for a quick snack and i couldn't even eat it!
jordan at the restaurant
we went on a long half hour walk to the beach from where jordan lives. we were crossing over a bridge and i got this cool shot of a little boat on the lake. there are tons of boats everywhere in Fort Lauderdale.
i also got this shot from the bridge - a motor boat speeding by.
we saw this flounder from the bridge and i ran down to take pics.
jordan, blair and mom walking along the bridge
heres the lake
mom, jordan and blair standing on the edge of the lake
dad on the edge of the lake. we were fish scouting
mom and dad walking across a street. i loed their poses! :P
dad and jordan walking
this was one of my favorite pics! if you click on the picture to enlarge it you can see the huge iguana sunning itself. when they heard us coming they (i think there were three or four) they leapt away into the trees, and i got one pic of an iguana getting ready to jump off the ground - but it was sort of blurry.
i love this pic of jordan - the sunny palm trees and all
houses and palm trees on the lake
i think i should call this a lake -- i don't really know what else to call it... ?
a boat on the - lake.
jordan, mom and blair together
boats on the lake
blair and jordan
dad with a palm tree background
my grandmother used to grow these flowers, called crown of thorns i think. when she died mom got some of the plant and grew it as a remembrance to her. so it was really neat to see all these plants growing wild everywhere in FL
dad and mom walking <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_i4C68G-I_Ao/Sp_BNNpJAZI/AAAAAAAAErU/YeBk4GKmi7c/s1600-h/DSCF7652.jpg">
back to when we were walking along A1A - this is one of the restaurants we passed. i thought it was so cool that it had a little waterfall for scenery!
jordan and blair walking along A1A
blair walking
blair
palm trees! aaah - i love palm trees. they were everywhere.
mom and dad walking along A1A
mom
ok - this was on the car ride to FL. I know these pics are totally not in order, or organized at all for that matter - but oh well. :)
i guess thats it - so yeah these were my favorite pics of the 200 i took.
um yep. thats it. :)

most embarrassing moments
ok - you know when you get a quiz/survey type thing from a friend through email? and then you type in your answers and send it to all your friends...
well a commonly asked question on there is - "what is your most embarrassing moment?"
i normally don't have an answer for those types of questions. nothing super embarrassing really ever happens to me, and if they do i make myself forget all about them.
well, sadly - i do believe i have an answer for that question now, and i don't think i'll ever forget it!
dad, blair and i went to see terminator salvation at the byrd theater. (jordan said it was the worst movie ever but i actually really enjoyed it! i love the characters of kyle and marcus!!!!) so anyways, when they were showing ads, like they always do before the movie, i came back from the bathroom. while i had been gone lots of people had filled up the row of seats we were on, so to get to my seat i had to climb over another row of chairs.
now, the smart thing to do would be to put your foot on the cup holder, right? but no. i put my foot on the chair - which promptly folded, trapping my foot. i was wearing crocks, which are kind of big shoes i guess, so i couldn't get my foot out. i was sitting atop the chair, for some 200 maybe people to see, stuck.
i was so embarrassed!!!! a guy came and started trying to yank my foot out but it wouldn't budge. a lady behind me asked me if she should go get an attendant. i said "nooooo!!!!!!!" after the guy tried yanking my foot out he tried getting my shoe off. finally this worked and i shrank into my seat.
i felt like shrinking down, down, down - into the floor. oh, it was terrible.
i didn't stop thinking about the incident until the first 30 minutes of the movie had passed.
so - whats your most embarrassing moment?

FL trip :)
hey - FL was awesome! the car ride was all right, no one died, and the heat in FL wasn't that bad. God really worked things out for us!
i have been very busy getting ready for school by taking practice algebra 1 and biology SOLs.
Soooooo I have not been able to post sooner, my apologies :) - these are just a few of the pictures i took down in FL. seriously, i took about 200! blogger takes forever to load pics though (its really getting on my nerves) so i am just posting these for now.
i will try and post more soon!
dad insisted i get a picture with this big plastic pizza man. :P
the palm trees were everywhere down there - so gorgeous!
jordan - we were so happy to see her!
there are tons of lizards in fort lauderdale. lots of them curled up their tales when they ran. :)
this is a "flower bug" we saw at a gas station on the way to FL. it was so cool, i had to take a pic!
a little prayer request - please pray for me with the upcoming school year. i am really nervous, mostly about homework, tests and SOLs, and peer pressure.
and then, there's the silly little things - like where do i sit when i get on the bus? would if no one wants to sit next to me? would if some weirdo sits next to me?
and - where do i sit in the cafeteria?
i know, so silly - i shouldn't be getting butterflies from stuff like this but.... :P.
thanks guys for being here for me and praying for me! your all the best. :)

and we're off!
we're leaving for vacation in a few minutes! i am so excited. please pray that we (mom, dad, blair and i) will have a blessed time there!
we are going down to Fort Lauderdale to visit my eldest sister Jordan. She is turning 20.
also please pray for the car ride there and back because we have to take the sentra which means only five seats! it's very cramped. thanks for your prayers!

alice and amy lee
kam and i are watching two little kittens for becka, blair and i's good friends. her friend's cat had them and then the mom cat abandoned these poor little babies, so becka took them in. her family is on vacation and she is staying at different houses, so she asked kam and i to watch them for about a week.
they are the most adorable things but very hard to care for! you have to feed them milk out of a dropper and they are hungry all the time. also they spill milk all over themselves so its a constant battle trying to wash it off every hour or so.
alice is orange and smaller. she was named after a character in twilight. amy lee is black and bigger, and softer too. she is much easier to feed as well. she was named after amy lee, the main singer in evanescense.
kam keeps the kitties in her room, since her room is downstairs
heres amy lee

summer fun - and pediatrcian (blah.)
well i don't know if you all know but everyone but Blair is going to public school this year, and so to get into school we have to be all up to date on our shots and stuff like that.
Corby, Kam and I all were scheduled for one day and then after we finished that up we went to the pool. :)
in the waiting room they had this "funny mirror." :P
i love this picture, corb really looks like he's modeling. this is while we were waiting for the nurses to come and give us our shots and physicals. corb had to take a vision and hearing test (his reply - i wanna do it again!), and then kam and i both had to get a physical and two shots.
me at the pool :)
me again
the clouds - one of my favorite things to photograph
me again...
we met the bogerts at the pool and they stayed for about half an hour after we got there. this is gloria.
kendall caught a lizard :)
it bit her but she said it didn't hurt.

champs day 1
at the end of each swim team year all the swim teams get together and have a last massive swim team, so big it takes two nights to do it all. and not everyone can go to champs, you have to qualify for it. this year, grant and kendall both qualified, so we went. anyways here are some pics i got while i hung out with the girls.
hayley
hayley again
blair haha

blair soooooo gorgeous :)

blueberry picking
caregroup night grant and i went home with the marinellis and slept over so that the next morning we could go blueberry picking with them. the marinellis cousins, colbie (or colby?) and carly, were visiting so we met them too.
this is random but these were hanging on mrs. marinelli's living room wall - i thought they were really cool and different.
grant
jeffrey
grant and jeffrey never picked any blueberries at all really. and those they did pick wound up in their mouths rather than the bucket, :P. then they started throwing unripe blueberries at me and the war began. i know, i know, a complete waste of blueberries that could have been.
then the boys started getting blueberries that were ripe, and squashing them on me! that was gross. blueberry guts are very gross feeling, and there wasn't really any way to get it all off. that required serious payback so i managed to get them both a few times. :P
ethan was obsessed with finding "king berries," which i showed him. it was so cute, he was following me all over, asking, is this a king berry? how about this one?
this is carly. we shared a room and she made me tell her bedtime stories. first i told her the story about the horses cinnamon and george, and how they ventured out into the rabbit hole field. gasp! then the next story was about dogerella, and you all know that story.
auntie kim's cousin/sister i don't know came and she drove to auntie kim's house in the morning. her car was absolutely - awesome!
auntie kim tried very hard to dodge the pictures, insisting on some nonsense how she wasn't dressed up enough for pictures, or something like that.
so yeah we had a really fun time. there weren't very many blueberries this year but we still maanged to find a good amount.
tips on how to cut onions
i've found the best way to cut onions! finally!
in case you can't really see the picture (its not in the best light...) i am wearing goggles. it really works! the onion fumes can't reach your eyes when they're protected and - yep. it looks dorky, but i'd rather look weird than have my eyes start burning.
:D :D :D

one minute writer winner!
i am so excited - i am now a one minute writer winner!
if you haven't ever checked out the blog, you should. it's really neat. the blog link is -
oneminutewriter.blogspot.com
the theme for the blog is - you take one minute to answer a daily question, or, "prompt," on the blog. after enough people have written their answer in the comments section, a winner is chosen.
you can visit the blog for more instructions.
i have been answering the prompts for a while and i never try to make them interesting or clever, i just answer them. so i was really surprised that i had won!
hear is my winning piece of writing:
Metamorphosis
Have you ever gone through a metamorphosis? If so, describe it. If not, would you like to?
my metamorphosis is occurring right now. first i started taking care of myself and caring how i looked a whole lot more. then i started eating healthy foods - like mom's muffins and wheat cereal. then one day i surprised myself to find that i didn't really mind watching the kids and doing chores. in fact, i liked how the house looked when it was all clean! i am growing up. my metamorphosis isn't yet complete, but i hope that when it is i'll resemble my mom in as many ways as possible. after all, she's the perfect butterfly to me.
Congratulations on the win, Brynn! I'm impressed at the level of self-awareness and maturity that is displayed in your response. It sounds like you're doing a good job at the whole "growing up" thing--I bet your parents are very proud. Feel free to put a One-Minute Writer WINNER! button on your blog!

italian ice
my mom went to this store called fresh to frozen. they have really cheap, different kinds of food their. suppose a can gets dented or something in walmart - they will just send it to fresh to frozen.
well, mom went their the other day and got a huge bucket of lemon ice. it's four gallons!
i thought the pics were pretty funny so i had kendall snap a few of kam and i.

kevin the mallard duckling :)
introducing the newest member of our family, kevin. :)
he is a baby mallard duckling. grant and corby were walking in a neighborhood near ours, the grove, and they were walking around the lake. they saw the baby duck being trampled by the other ducks and then left behind when the mom and the other babies swam off without it.
grant rescued the abandoned duckling and brought it home. grant named him doug, but then the name switched to kevin. (can you guess what movie we just saw? doug and kevin are two of the main animal characters in the movie Up.)
kevin is the most adorable thing ever, so i've gotten tons of pictures of him...
grant holding kevin. its so funny, kevin loves to fall asleep in peoples hands. when we put him in his cage and go away he will peep for at least 30 minutes before he settles down. he's such a people person! (or duck...)
grant holding kevin
kevin swimming happily in our kitchen sink as corb and hayley look on
kevin swimming in the sink - he didn't like the water running
kevin fell asleep in the water because it was nice and warm :)
kevin about to be taken out of his mini pond
grant holds kevin like this when he wants him to go to sleep. kevin quickly gets warm in grant's hand and then he falls right asleep. its so cute! he'll be peeping and waddling around one minute, then as soon as he gets warm he falls asleep. :)

well, happy 4th. :)
i have been really behind on blogging and this time i'm not gonna try and keep up. blogging is really exhausting if you try and blog about everything that goes on.
for my 4th of july we went over to my aunt and uncles house and we had burgers and hotdogs, then went to see the fireworks. not much else to say...........
its kinda been a blah day over here. really rainy, cold and nothing to do. sigh. :)

i also named my ripstiks emmett and jasper. emmett is the green one and jasper is the red one.

side bangs
All us girls got side bangs, except for Kendall.
Heres mine - they aren't that noticeable in this picture but my camera was dying so I just had to have Hayley take the picture fast.
Here's Hayley's. She started the trend - she had really short bangs and when they grew out Kam styled them into side bangs. We all really liked them and then Blair decided to cut hers. Then she cut Kam's. Then she cut mine.
Blair's, hers look the best in the pictures :)
Here's Kam's, they aren't that noticeable in this pic, but I didn't have enough time to get good pics...

the computer TRAGEDY!!!
WARNING - do NOT go on epilogue dot com. Don't do it!
Epilogue dot com is a website where professional artists display their sci-fi/fantasy artwork that they are selling. I used to go on it some to download pictures and get ideas from the pics for my writing and drawings.
So one fateful night, bored, I just went on there, downloading some really cute and inspiring pics of faeries and stuff like that - and then - I just downloaded one pic - and my computer went berserk! a box popped up with red letters practically screaming at me -
"warning! a malicious virus has been downloaded onto your computer! warning! this is a trojan virus!" and then something about it doing something to my computer and passwords and all this stuff. i got really cooked out - i thought my laptop, which i haven't had for a very long time, was gonna just die. i tried to download some antivirus thing (dad and mom were gone) and fix it myself (i was kinda scared dad might be mad i'd wrecked my laptop) but it required payment to install the antivirus thing. so i just shut down my computer and disconnected the internet, hoping nothing would like spread or anything. (for all you computer geniuses out there - i am not one of you. so if the answer to this solution is right in front of your eyes - well it certainly wasn't in front of mine :P)
dad came home. i told him. he wasn't really mad.
he just said,
"well, thats what you get for dorking around on websites" and i guess (i mean, know) he was right.
the next day he said before we emptied my computer and installed an antivirus program, we had to try something first. he restored my computer to the state it was in two weeks ago, and wallah (or however you spell it...) my computer was fixed! i was SO relieved.
i was seriously worried.
so yes, all is well. big sigh. big relieved sigh.
as you can see my technology (of my earthly possessions) has a high rank.
thank you, God, that you let my laptop get fixed with no trouble!!!

[The Rules: Answer the following questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention and add one more question of your own.]
If you could live anywhere in any house, where and what would it be? I would want to live in a big bright yellow house with lots of open land around it, and a pool and a garden. I would want one of the rooms in the house to be a library, of course, and it would be really cool if the house had secret tunnels running through it. :)
i would want the house to be in VA because I love VA! But maybe VA beach because I love the ocean too...
What are you wearing now? Jeans and a brown tshirt
What is on your desk? Um... my music book, my scrapbook, a cup of pencils, a box of art supplies, paint, a clip board with paper and pencils, and I think that's it...
What would you like to learn to do? play an instrument, preferably piano, second guitar.
Name a song you are currently obsessing over: Not really obsessing over it, but Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson.
What was the last thing you bought? Popsicles (to eat while dog walking) and Garden Salsa Sunchips (I know - I love food)
What one item are you currently wanting? Apple Ipod Touch 16 GB 2nd Generation (And if all goes well I'll be ordering one in two weeks!) :)
What languages can you speak? English and a bit of Spanish
What is the last book you have read? Midnighters Book Two: Touching Darkness was the last book I finished. The books I am reading now are Wolf Speaker, Anne of Windy Poplars and Pride and Prejudice.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I have some ideas, but I am not really sure - I am thinking of teaching either Science, Biology or Zoology in a public school, or becoming a professor later on in a college or something. It would be fun to become a photographer though, or work with animals somehow. Maybe in a shelter or a zoo. I just can't decide, there are too many options!
What are your favourite websites? deviantART, blogger, gmail, neopets, wikipedia
If you were to pick up a pen right now, what would be the first thing you'd write? a list of some sort, probably something to do with books
If you you could be anywhere in the world at any point in time, where would you be? at any point in time? hmmm.... i would say go maybe a few centuries into the future, but then how i would i get home?
If you could be an animal, what would you be? it depends. i'm not really sure how much thinking animals do so i think it would probably be boring to be one, though if i was i wouldn't know it. i think i would wanna just stay me :).
What are you looking forward to in the near future? Going to Busch Gardens, and getting an ipod touch
If you could open up your own store or business, what would it be? I would either open up a petstore or a petting zoo.
I tag Blair, Karen, Danielle, Hannah, Kam and Vivian!

we were laying on the trampoline and so I was just taking pics of the outline of the trees against the sky... so pretty. :)

its pretty beat up, but definitely worth it. grants been sounding awesome with all the practicing he's been doing.

group exercise tips
if you are taking a group exercise class at the gym, you would be wise to follow some of these tips...
1. don't try to be funny. most of the time no one laughs and you will feel pretty embarrassed.
2. don't use up all your energy in the warmup to show off to the other people in the class. take it nice and slow at the beginning - no one will be impressed if you faint of exhaustion half way through the class. (besides over all the point is to get a good workout, not impress everyone else with your awesomeness)
3. you should limit your bathroom breaks, or the teacher will get suspicious of you trying to skip all the hard parts of the class, and might even joke about how lazy you are when you are gone!
i know all this from personal experience.
